The Clerk to Council/PIO is appointed by Newberry County Council, the Clerk to Council is responsible for recording and documenting Newberry County’s legislative activity, deliberations, and directives affecting a broad array of local government departments and services, and in the processing of documents and the execution of contracts and agreements related to these activities.

Additionally, the PIO is responsible for media inquiries regarding Newberry County Government as connected to Newberry County Council, as well as Newberry County Freedom of Information Requests. Please see the FOIA Request page for more information regarding submitting a request.
